Yoga Tools Mobile App for Basic Practice Released in Chennai

Coinciding with the International Yoga day that was held all over the world, Chennai-based Isha Foundation has released a basic Yoga App called “Yoga Tools from Sadhguru” that offers 7 yoga practice postures for those new to Yoga.

The Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev said, “This is not serious Yoga, this is called as UpaYoga or Pre Yoga. It’s a stepping stone for Yoga. We want people to have a taste of Yoga and experience benefits that it offers. From there they can graduate to higher levels of yoga later on.”app-ad

Chennai held Yoga demonstration on Sunday with 15,000 people participating in it to learn some forms of yoga postures. Elaborating on yoga, the Sadhguru said the time has come for yoga to go beyond India and become global and the UN declaration has come as a welcome gesture. Yoga should not be isolated to India or Hinduism or any culture, he noted.

“If you make it very Indian, the world will not take it. We have to liberate Yoga from its national boundaries and make it available to every human being on the planet,” he told reporters.

Refuting recent remarks that Yoga is a Hindu practice, he said, “Calling yoga Hindu is like saying gravity is Christian. So this is not about Hindu or Muslim or whoever.”

Just as technology is universal, so should Yoga be, he said, releasing the Yoog App which depicted 7 yogasanas of five minutes each. Download Yoga App HERE.

These 5-minute asanas are easy-to-practice yet potential tools to enhance health, peace, and inner exploration, helping one cope with the hectic pace of modern life and realize their full potential in all spheres of life, says an intro to the app. When doing these practices, a light stomach is recommended, preferably one-and-a-half hour after food.
