The early reviews of ‘PK’ show that what was written in these columns in July about the possibility of an alien landing on earth and acclamatizing himself with his surroundings both in culture and language turned to be true as early movie reviews came out.
Though the prediction was refuted by Aamir Khan and others, it was true as the nameless seer from outer space finds himself stranded on Planet Earth’s deserts of Rajasthan and he learns his Bhojpuri accent from a sex-worker and proceeds to survive a hostile environment in Delhi, with only one friend Bhairon Singh, played by Sanjay Dutt.
In his search for his gadget, a remote controller to send signals for his spaceship, PK encounters numerous brushes with people in Rajasthan and Delhi. Here he meets TV journalist Jaggu Sahni, played by Anushka Sharma, who had just broken with her Pakistani boyfriend Sarfaraz Yusuf, played by Sushant Singh Rajput.
Next his unpredictable and inexplicable powers take the centre-stage in breaking news stories and he himself appears on the television memerising his audience. With a limited role by Sushant Singh Rajput before the climax, Ranbir Kapoor appears in a cameo role to enthrall audience.
