As expected, Xiaomi was able to sell its latest smartphone Mi4 in just 15 seconds though more than 2.5 lakh registrations were made. Opened on Flipkart, the flash sale at 2:00 pm on Tuesday and was soon sold out in a fraction of 15 seconds. This is the first sale of Mi4 on flipkart.
Tweeting about the time, Hugo Barra, VP, Xiaomi Global, said the Mi 4 devices were sold out in just 15 seconds. The registrations to buy online opened on January 28 and closed on Monday, February 9 midnight.
The moment the sale opened, it was over in seconds and the next sale registration message began to appear. The next sale will be on Tuesday next and the registration for it will be opened from 6 pm today.
Apart from the Mi 4, Xiaomi is still selling its Redmi Note 4G and this time the registration is already over on Monday and the sale on Flipkart for the device will begin at 5 PM on Wednesday, February 11.
The Mi4 is priced Rs.19,999 and redmi Note G is priced at Rs,9,999. Though Mi4 has many features, the price is slightly in the higher range and the company is not likely to sell more devices in its Tuesday online flash sale. One demerit with the Mi4 is its 12GB internal memory when its rivals in the same price range offer more. Further, it doesn’t support 4G.
Otherwise, Xiaomi Mi 4 sports a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, with 3GB of RAM and has a 13MP rear camera with 4K video recording and 8M front camera. It runs on 3080 mAh battery.
