In what will be a very crucial encounter for both sides, England and Sri Lanka face off in game 22 of the ICC Cricket world cup to guarantee a quarter final spot in Group A.
After the embarrassment suffered in the opening games, England managed to come back with
a strong performance against Scotland to make their Net run rate look somewhat decent. They now will look to be influenced by the momentum shift as Sri Lanka come calling on Sunday. They will know that a loss could well put Bangladesh as favorites to qualify and hence will have to desperate win this clash. Apart from Ali and Taylor, the England team as a whole look woeful and they must pick themselves up and show to the world what they are made up of.
Sri Lanka on the other hand seem to have regained some form winning their last two outings and sitting pretty above Australia. A win here will all but ensure their ticket and the prospect of finishing above the Aussies too will come into picture. The islanders have played some good cricket over the last few weeks including some stellar performances from the veterans in Sangakkara and Jayawardane. The bowling too has looked confident and hence they will be the favorites heading into the England clash.
X Factor – Getting Sangakkara and Jayawardane early will be the key to England’s triumph. The duo, in almost the final leg of their career have left no stone unturned in showing their class. They have bailed the Lankans out on many situations and hence Morgan must construct a plan to negate the effectiveness of the duo.
The ICC World Cup Match will be shown live on Star Sports 1 and Star Sports HD 1, while the live-streaming will be available on Starsports.com in the sub-continent.
Those in the UK can see it live on Sky Sports 2 which has been telecasting as Sky Sports World Cup. For live streaming, they can access Sky Go.
