Chinese phone maker OnePlus will hold OnePlus India event today, October 12, in Bangalore with expectations that OnePlus X is likely to be launched at the event by its CEO Pete Lau, himself.
After its successful launch of OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 smartphones, the presence of Pete Lau, the founder and CEO of the company at the company has riased expectations that the corporate announcement on Monday will reveal the OnePlus X.
However, other rumours have speculated that the event will make it known the plans of OnePlus to manufacture its smartphones in India under the program “Make in India” and that too the manufacturing hub will be somewhere in the outskirts of Bangalore or in Husur in Tamil Nadu, where Nokia had earlier burnt it hands.
But one report in Android Central says it is about the Next Big step of OnePlus as the invite said: Pete Lau and OnePlus India General Manager Vikas Agarwal will “reiterate the relevance of Indian market in the OnePlus growth story and announce The Next Big Step.”
So far, Xiaomi, Lenovo and Gionee have already lined up to set up manufacturing units in India. But the display of ‘X’ in its Twitter message has led many to predict the launch of the OnePlus X smartphone.
