Twitter Outrage Pours in as 4-day Meat Ban Imposed

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to ban meat for five days of Jain ritual of Paryushan in Mumbai. The Jain community observes a fast for eight days called Paryushan, which will be observed from September 10-17 this year.

The BMC’s controversial decision to ban meat sale for eight days in the city has triggered strong protests from political parties like Shivsena, Congress and others who said that no one can decide what others are supposed to eat.

This ban has come a few months after the beef ban that was enforced in Maharashtra. Many claimed it to be a breach of their fundamental rights.

However, the decision to ban meat in Mumbai by the BMC for four days came in for a shock on the micro-blogging website Twitter.

#MeatBan is now trending in TWITTER and people are not missing any chances of trolling the BJP government for their act.
