TataSky, India’s major directo-to-home channel operator, has launched the premium 4K set-top box for the first time in India, just a month before the World Cup 2015 kicks off.
The 4K content provides ultra high definition 4K beams content at a resolution of 3840 x 2160, which is 4 times the pixels of full HD with better picture and colour clarity. “With the smallest details standing out in crystal clarity, even colours take on a whole new life with the 10 bit true colour,” said TatSky on its website.
The multiple TV option also offers the standard definition and high definition channels on the 4K set-top box priced Rs.6,400 and the company said it would offer the box for Rs.5,900 for existing customers.
TataSky 4K comes with ultra high definition picture quality, Dolby digital plus 7.1 surround sound system and a display pixel capability of 8.3 megapixels that is four times that of 2K content being offered on the HD standard, said the company.
