In the first case of swine flu this year in Gurgaon, neighbouring Delhi , a 32-year-old woman has been found positive for the disease, confirmed a doctor on Wednesday.
Kavita, a housewife and resident of Faridabad, was found positive for swine flu and was admitted to a government-run civil hospital in Gurgaon and her husband, who works with a private company, came with Kavita’s test report issued by a private laboratory.
“After examining the patient and the report, she was found swine flu positive. She was immediately admitted to an isolation ward made for such patients,” a doctor from the civil hospital said.
There are over a dozen suspected swine flu patients in Gurgaon and their test reports are awaited. In fact, Gurgaon case comes close on the news of the second swine-flu victim who succumbed to it today.
Delhi reports 2nd Death
A 39-year-old man became the second victim of swine flu in New Delhi on Tuesday night. “The patient died of swine flu Tuesday night,” a senior official from the Delhi health department told IANS.
According to the health department, the patient was a resident of Faridabad in Haryana, and his samples tested positive at the National Centre for Disease Control.
The patient was admitted to the Deepak Memorial Hospital in east Delhi area last week. This is the second death due to swine flu. Earlier, a 51-year-old woman died of swine flu on December 26.
