Sunanda Murder Case: Delhi Police Issue Notice to Shashi Tharoor

Amid speculations, Delhi police on Monday issued a notice to Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor to question him over Sunanda Pushkar’s murder.

As per reports, he is likely to be questioned on Tuesday or Wednesday. Tharoor, who is in Bengaluru now, is asked to be present for questioning as soon as possible in the issued notice.

Initially though police had plans to question Tharoor, they had changed the decision saying that he will be questioned later, once all other people related to this probe are questioned.

Meanwhile, last week, Tharoor has demanded for an impartial and speedy investigation during a press conference. He said that he needs a probe without any political pressure. He has also said that “I have lost my wife and I have not been able to mourn in peace.”

Tharoor had already told the police that he will cooperate with them and is ready for any inquiry and investigation.

Sunanda was found dead in Hotel Leela Palace room, while Tharoor was away to attend an all-day Congress meeting elsewhere in Delhi.

Amid, Tharoor’s domestic staff Narain had been questioned. After, Tharoor has filed a complaint to the Delhi Commissioner stating that his domestic helper has been “repeatedly physically assaulted by one of your officers. Worse, that officer used the traumatic physical assault to try and intimidate Narayan into ‘confessing’ that he and I murdered my wife.”

Narain had been interrogated by the police twice earlier, after Sunanda’s death.
