Subramaniam Swamy Asks Centre to Open Netaji Files Now

Following the West Bengal government’s decision to declassify 64 Netaji files maintained by intelligence officials for two decades after the purported 1945 air crash, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Friday sought the Central Government to follow suit or else he would move the court.

Giving a deadline of nd of this year, Swamy said,”I have already told the government to declassify the files or else I will move court by the year end. They don’t have an authority to keep the files of Subhash Bose in secret.”netaji2

Swamy told ANI that the notion of hurting foreign relations is no longer valid as the erstwhile Soviet Union or the Labour Party in UK is no more there. It may defame Nehru and the Congress party, he added without giving further details.

The first information gleaned from the 64 de-classified files by the West Bengal government reveal that Netaji was alive till 1964 but not conclusively.

The 64 files have been made public at Calcutta Police Museum, in the Office of Deputy Commissioner of Kolkata Police, North Division on 113 APC Road.
