Ending the anxiety over her health, Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi was discharged on Sunday from the Ganga Ram Hospital, where she was taking treatment as an in-patient since August 3.
Sonia Gandhi had developed fever, dehydration and suffered a shoulder injury when she was leading a rally in Varanasi, the constituency of PM Narendra Modi.
“Ms. Gandhi is likely to visit the hospital for further evaluation in the coming week,” said D.S. Rana chairman of Gangaram Hospital.
Sonia Gandhi underwent surgery for her shoulder injury at the hospital by Prateek Gupta, senior consultant and his team from the Department of Orthopaedics and Dr. Sanjay Desai from Mumbai a week ago.
Earlier, in 2011, Sonia Gandhi underwent a successful surgery at New York’s Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for an undisclosed “medical condition”.
