Ajay Devgn’s “Singham Returns” is to hit screens tomorrow but the momentum is building already with tickets sold out in many theatres and malls as it coincides with the Independence Day holiday all over the country.
Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor playing the lead roles, the sequel to “Singham” by Rohit Shetty is expected not to just reach the Rs.100-crore club in Bollywood but see itself in the Rs.200-crore club, going by the hype it has created.
Nonetheless, its box office success depends on how Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty can keep the crowds glued to the screen in the theatres owing to the long weekend that is crucial for the film’s initial success.
“A super hero is incomplete without a super heroine,” said Kareena Kapoor who is playing lead heroine role in “SinghamReturns.”
The mouth-to-mouth word spreading in a positive direction would seal the fate of the success of the movie and Rohit Shetty is known for exploiting this side of the advertisement.
Reports say “Singham Returns” tickets have already been sold out in major cities like Pune, Delhi and Mumbai regions, giving the initial 100% packed theatres an edge to mint box office collections on the opening weekend.
With rates cautiously kept at Rs.250 to Rs.300 range, it will attract more audience and the middle class familites which will be looking forward to visiting a theatre as part of their vacation.
With a runtime of 133 minutes and 11 seconds, the film will test the patience of sober day mood on August 15, 2014.
