Ringing Bells has revolutionized the smartphone market with the launch of its new smartphone Freedom 251, as the title suggests for only Rs.251, which makes it the cheapest smartphone in the world and the NOIDA-based company is upbeat with the launch today by Union Defence Minsiter Manohar Parrikar.
The new smartphone is a testimony to the Indian government’s Make in India, Digital India and Skill India programs, said the company, revealing that the booking will start from tomorrow, Thursday at 6:00AM and close on Feb 21, 2016 at 8PM. The sales window is open for 4 days only.
Seen on the company’s website, Freedom 251 specifications include a 4-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) IPS display, and Qualcomm 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, expandable up to 32GB.
The Freedom 251 also sports a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera at the back, VGA selfie camera, and it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Some preloaded apps include Women Safety, Swachh Bharat, Fisherman, Farmer, Medical, WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube and others. It has 3G connectivity provided.
In addition, Ringing Bells assures buyers of one year warranty and says more than 650 service centers across the country will provide the service. The company is making ripples in Indian smartphone market with its recent launch of a smartphone Smart 101, priced at Rs 2,999. But today’s launch of Freedom 251 is way below the price and a shocker for the entire mobile phone market around the world.
