As BJP is all set for the inauguration of its first government in Maharashtra, its former ally Shiv Sena said it will take decision on joining with BJP on Thursday.
Sena MP Sanjay Raut said, “We met Uddhav Thackeray and discussed the future course of action with him. The wait is over now, just one more day. We will announce our decision tomorrow.”
Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is reportedly expected to announce the final stand of the party. Meanwhile, Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe said, “Discussions are on within the party. Uddhavji will take a final call (on whether to join the BJP-led ministry).”
Sena’s mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, however, has warned the BJP on Thursday while it has taken its stand for taking support from National Congress Party in the government formation. According to report, the editorial says that Sena is proud that Maharashtra will be headed by Virdarbha and welcomes the newly chosen chief minister Devendra Fadnavis but it also warns that it be a floor test for Fadnavis.
However, the editorial said that the party is likely to see the good days ahead with the leadership of PM Modi in the centre and Fadnavis, who has been elected as Maharashtra CM on Tuesday. "With Narendra (Modi) at the Centre, Devendra (Fadnavis) in the state, we expect ‘achche din’ ahead," the editorial said.
The editorial has also extended their support to Fadnavis, saying it has closely worked with him and will continue to stay grounded.
