Shah Rukh Khan Turns 51: From an Icon to Legendary?

Shah Rukh Khan turns 51, no becomes a legendary transforming the business of bollywood on par with Hollywood.

Born on November 2, 1965, in New Delhi to Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima, Shah Rukh Khan was raised in Mangalore initially till he reached five years of age and surprisngly, he left Mangalore just before another Bollywood celebrity Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was born in 1973.

And both their birthdays are just one day part and Being Scorpions, they are bent upon achieving great heights in life. SRK, as he is known now, grew up at his grandfather’s place in Mangalore near the Mangalore port, where his grandpa was an engineer. SRK’s father died when he was just 15 years and grew up more attached to his mother in Delhi’s Rajendra Nagar area and went to the St. Columbia’s school where he won the Sword of Honour given to the best student.

Later, he attended Hansraj College for BA in Economics and joined Jamia Millia Islamia for an MA in mass communications but had to drop out to pursue his acting career in TV serial “Fauji”.

He met Gauri Chibber in 1984 and was head over heels pursuing her, despite the fact that she hailed from a traditional Hindu family. Despite opposition from his mother and her parents, they persisted and finally made both sides agree to a Hindu traditional marriage in 1991. After his mother’s death, he moved to Mumbai and never looked back in his pursuit of film career that has made him one of the richest actors in the world. SRK and Gauri have son Aryan, daughter Suhana and a surrogate child AbRam.
