Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (SVSC) has already proved a box-office hit with Friday collection in the US at $338,228 (Rs. 1.84 crore) from 67 locations and Rs.9.81 crore in Andhra Pradesh on its opening day.
“Telugu film SEETHAMMA VAKITLO SIRIMALLE CHETTU is rewriting the rules of the game. The film has embarked on a mind-blowing start in U.S.A., garnering a rich haul in its opening weekend,” wrote fim trade analyst Tarun Adarsh in his tweet on the film’s box office collection.
SEETHAMMA VAKITLO SIRIMALLE CHETTU has collected $12,62,100 (Rs. 6.87 crore) from 69 screens, with the average working out to $18,291 in the opening week from Thursday to Sunday, for 4 days.
This is far more than Chiranjeevi’s son Charan’s film NAAYAK which was opened on a grand scale but failed to impress with $3,87,808 (Rs.2.11 crore) from 54 screens, with the per screen average working out to $7,182, in all six days of its show, writes Taran Adarsh.
The collections are also far more than Mahesh Babu’s box-office figures recorded earlier. His film “Businessman” released last year, on Jan. 13, 2012, to be precise got Rs. 18.73 crore on Day One.
