PUTTAPARTHI — Indian spiritual guru Sathya Sai Baba passed away on Sunday morning at 6.25 am, said sources at Prashanti Nilayam.
Baba, 85, was hospitalized on March 28 with respiratory problems and his condition deteriorated and he was virtually kept on machine support until the end.
Sathya Sai Trust said Baba’s body will be kept for public darshan at Sai Kulwant Hall on Monday and Tuesday, while preparations for the last rites are being arranged.
While his disciples thronged Puttaparthi since a week, the local administration has moved more than 10,000 police and other troops to maintain law and order in the temple town of Puttaparthi.
