M. Venkat, a victim of Samsung’s denial of replacement of a faulty refrigerator, turned to consumer affairs minister Ram Vilas Paswan and foreign affairs minister Sushma Swaraj for help. He tweeted them complaining about Samsung, the Korean company. He might have thought that Samsung, being a foreign company, would listen to Swaraj.
It will now because the minister did not interfere nor reach out to help him but just replied in one liner that made the country sit up and notice what the complaint is all about.
“Dear Ministers, @Samsung_IN sold me a defective refrigerator, they r not ready to replace …Samsung REFRIGERATOR (RT28K3922RZ/HL), bearing serial # (03E04PAH201870M). @Samsung_IN is forcing me go for repair”, is what Venkat tweeted to ministers. Trivial it may be but a huge burden for Samsung’s Media Planners now.
The reply from Paswan would have been perfect but the minister of consumer affairs is nowhere in the social media to reply. But external affairs miniser Sushma Swaraj replied saying, “Brother I cannot help you in matters of a Refrigerator. I am very busy with human beings in distress.”
That was enough for the man in distress over his fridge. “He thanked her in his reply: “”mam, tq u 4 rply. now at least ppl will be aware of @Samsung_IN disgraceful service and products with ur reply.”
Soon twitterati woke up to either find fault with Venkat or praise Sushma Swaraj. Here are some interesting reactions on Twitter:
–“That’s the coolest reply : awesome”.
— ” Hilarious. Insane. Can’t stop laughing!”
