Yesteryears Bollywood actress Sadhana Shivdasani, 74, passed away on Friday morning after battling cancer for several years. She is remembered for her legendary front bangs, hair cut known as the Sadhana cut.
Sadhana, who underwent operation last December, was admitted to the Hinduja hospital few days ago but brought home later. She breathed her last at her home on Saturday morning, confirmed her family friend Shaina N.C.
Shivdasani acted in hits like ‘Love In Simla’, ‘Parakh,’ ‘Hum Dono,’ ‘Shree 420,’ ‘Mere Mehboob,’ ‘Waqt’ and ‘Woh Kaun Thi.’
Sadhana married her Love in Simla director Ram Krishna Nayyar in 1966, despite opposition from her parents. They were married for nearly 30 years, until his death in 1995 from asthma. The couple had no children.
She suffered from hyperthyroid and refused to be photographed because she wanted to be remembered the way she was. A next door neighbour to singer Asha Bhosle and she was seen with old timers such as Asha Parekh, Waheeda Rehman, Nanda and Helen.
