The second season of the Pro Kabaddi League commenced from yesterday with the opener between last year’s champion, Jaipur Pink Panthers and runners-up, U Mumba. As all the Mumbai fans are celebrating their teams’ avenge for last year’s loss to Jaipur, the tournament gears up for day two action that will also feature Mumbai.
On the second day, U Mumba will take on Bengaluru Bulls, after both are coming off from superb triumphs over Jaipur Pink Panthers and Bengal Warriors, respectively.
With the help of Rishankdev Adig’s nick of time point, U Mumba squeezed out a hard fought 29-28 victory from the never-give-up side of Abhishek Bachchan, Jaipur Pink Panthers. Their victory not only helped them take revenge for last year’s final loss, but also secure the second spot in the points table.
On the other hand, Bengaluru Bulls produced a standalone performance with a convincing 33-25 win over Bengal Warriors. Although they were missing their star player from last season, Ajay Thakur Bulls showed they have higher expectations than finishing third unlike 2014. They’re currently the topper of the points table.
The other match of the day will feature Telegu Titans and Dabang Delhi, who will look to improve their performances from last year after they both failed to qualify for even the playoff stage of the tournament.
The 2015 Pro Kabaddi League kicked off yesterday with a wonderful performance by Big B (Amitabh Bachchan) as the 72-year-old sang the National Anthem of India, mesmerizing the audience in the process.
