Aamir Khan-starrer “PK” is all set to break his past records by joining the Rs.300-crore club in less than three weeks, surpassing his own ‘Ghajini’ and “3 Idiots”.
While Ghajini is the first film in Bollywood to cross the Rs.100 crore psychological barrier, his next film “3 Idiots” broke it into Rs.200-crore club. Now his “PK” will set the next record joining the Rs.300 crore club in less than three weeks or in 16 days to be precise.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#PK all set to cross ₹ 300 cr today [Sunday; Day 17]. Becomes first Hindi film to attain the feat in India.” The trade analyst, with maximum following on Twitter, returned after a long time and is trending on the social media for his return to action in 2014.
As of Saturday, the film PK box collections were Rs.293.84 crore net in domestic collections while in overseas markets too the film broke many barriers. In the US-Canada market, it was able to rake in $9,149,300 (Rs.57.86 crore). “#PK all set to cross $ 10 million in USA-Canada. 2-week total: $ 9,149,300 [₹ 57.86 cr]. Awesome!,” said another tweet from Taran Adarsh.
Giving the weekly breakup, Taran adarsh said: “#PK Week 3: Fri 6.85 cr, Sat 8.32 cr. Grand total: ₹ 293.84 cr nett. India biz. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER.”

The film “PK”, a critical appraisal of religion in India from an alien point of view tries to probe the rationale behind religion and faith and triggers debate over Babas. It received wrath from Baba Ramdev and other pro-Hindu elemnts in India, which have demanded its ban.
The political twist took the film being upgraded to be tax-free in UP and Bihar too. Otherwise, the Rajkumar Hirani-directed film also features Anushkar Sharma, Sanjay Dutt among others.
