Keeping in norm with the global oil prices, petrol and diesel prices in India were cut on Friday by over Rs.2 per litre each, effective minight, IndianOil Corp announced.
While petrol will be cheaper by Rs.2.41 a litre in Delhi, diesel will cost Rs.2.25 less per litre.
Prices of both fuels were also reduced earlier this month on the back of declining international oil prices.
But gas prices remain unchanged as the hike was announced just a week ago increasing it by Rs.8 per cylinder.
New Delhi city gas distributor Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) said it will not increase prices, although the government had announced a new price for domestic natural gas effective Saturday.
“Despite the revision in domestic gas prices announced by the government with effect from Nov 1, IGL has decided not to revise the retail price of CNG and domestic PNG in the interest of its consumers in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad,” said IGL Managing Director Narendra Kumar in a statement.
