After considerable delay, the names of Osama bin-Laden’s relatives who were killed in a Hampshire plane accident have come to the fore. They are Osama’s sister Sana, his stepmother Rajaa Hashim and Sana husband Zuhair Hashim, besides the Jordanian pilot.
The family members of Osama bin-Laden, who were never in the news when Osama was alive or later, however, raised anxiety levels across the world over the identities of the diceased who were killed in the crash when their business jet ploughed into a car auction centre while trying to land at an airport in Hampshire.

Quoting witnesses, Guardian said:
— The Embraer Phenom 300 jet plane came down with a heavy noise and fire engulfed the entire car auction centre when it hit the ground.
— The aircraft is reportedly flying from Milan-Malpensa Airport in Italy to Blackbushe airfield in Hampshire, came down after overshooting the runway and clipping a fence.
— The Embraer Phenom 300 jet then flipped over and landed on a number of cars in an adjacent auction site, sparking a huge blaze. Around 20 cars were completely destroyed.
— Instantly smoke engulfed and small flames from the top of the aircraft were seen and within a minute, it all went up into ball of flames.
— The plane, meant for 9 passengers, costs £6 million and was owned by Salem Aviation, a company which is part of the bin Laden conglomerate based in Jeddah.
Media quoting a friend of Sana said she lived a simple life and never showed off any inkling for wealth or jewelry. “She lived in a modest flat and had no servants. She did all the housework and looked after her husband. She was not concerned with expensive clothes or jewellery. She was only concerned with helping the poor and the needy children. She was a lovely person and may God bless her.”
Another friend said Sana was “loved dearly” by the children at the orphanage, who call her “Mama Soso”. The Saudi Arabian mission in London confirmed the deaths of bin Laden family members in a Twitter message:
“His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdul Aziz, the ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United Kingdom, offered his condolences to the sons of the late Mohammed bin Laden and their relations for the grave incident of the crash of the plane carrying members of the family at Blackbushe airport,” said the tweet.
Some pictures released in media show Sana bin Laden, who works at an orphanage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia and was believed to be never in contact with her brother Osama for decades.
In 1988, Osama’s half-brother Salem bin Laden, who studied at Millfield School in Somerset, died when his aircraft drifted into high-voltage power lines in San Antonio, Texas.
Their father, Mohammed bin Laden, Osama’s father too died in a plane crash on September 13, 1967 when his Beechcraft 18 crashed on a landing strip near Usran in Saudi Arabia. He was reportedly on his trip to go for his marriage with his 23rd wife.
Osama bin Laden’s father Mohammed had more than 50 children and was founder of the Binladen Group, a construction conglomerate that was given lucrative building contracts by the government in Saudi Arabia.
