OnePlus, which is struggling to sell its OnePlus One in India despite its superb features owing to no updates from Cyanogen in the country is now serious to launch a killer game device that can overcome all the troubles.
Carl Pei, Global Director of OnePlus Global, said at the World Mobile congress in Barcelona recently that it is preparing to enter a new product category that is not a smartwatch nor a tablet. The guess was wild about the possible product from the upcoming tech firm and now it is clear — a gaming device.
The phone OnePlus One with its features has been billed as a killer phone in many reviews though it was unable to make a dent into the Indian market where Cyanogen had given its rights away to Micromax. Still it was able to sell about a million ‘OnePlus One’ smartphones, which are currently available without an invite every Tuesday.
In its note in a forum the company official S. David said: “It’s been a little over a year since OnePlus was founded, and while we launched with our flagship killer smartphone, we have, and always will be, a technology company. Innovation and revolutionary ideas that shake up the industry are what OnePlus has built itself upon.”
Stressing that the company is bound to disrupt the smartphone world, it said in the note, “The One was created to disrupt the smartphone world. The Power Bank was born to give our users more options and greater mobility. So, when it came time to think about our next product, we decided on a curveball.”
“It’s not a tablet, and it’s not a smartwatch. But it is a game changer,” they said. The following teasers have been put out by the company clearly hinting at the gaming device that is going to hit the stores in April.
