Bollywood veteran Rishi Kapoor, feels that Abhishek Bachchan has created his own place in Bollywood and that has grown out of father Amitabh Bachchan’s shadow.
Rishi Kapoor will be seen sharing space onscreen with Abhishek Bachchan for the first time in their upcoming movie ‘All Is Well.’
Rishi, who is 62 year old have shared screen with Amitabh Bachchan in few movies. The list includes films like Kabhie Kabhie, Coolie and Amar Akbar Anthony.
TOI quoted Rishi Kapoor, who said, “Habits of both of them (Abhishek and Amitabh) are different and not necessary that he (Abhishek) should copy his (father’s) habits.
“He has made his own identity. This is the first film we have done together and we have done it with honesty. We did our best,” Rishi told reporters at the trailer launch of “All is Well”.
Rishi plays a role of Abhishek’s father in All is Well. The movie also stars Asin Thottumkal and Supriya Pathak.
Talking about the movie Rishi said that the movie is a modern day Shravan Kumar’s story, where he did ‘char dhaam ki yatra’ for his parents.
Shravan, a mythological character that appeared in Ramayana, carried his old parents in two baskets each tied to a bamboo pole on a pilgrimage. The poster of the movie depicts the story as Abhishek doing the same.
He told TOI: “I hope Abhishek and I present you an entertaining film. He is a good actor. I have worked with Asin earlier in ‘Housefull 2’. We had a good time working together.”
Asin, is all set to make a comeback in Bollywood after a long time. The actress was last seen in 2012 release ‘Khiladi 786’ opposite Akshay Kumar. In her upcoming movie ‘All is Well’ she will be seen romancing Abhishek Bachchan.
When Asin was questioned about why was she away from films for a long time, she replied in affirmative and meanwhile, Junior Bachchan interrupted bailing her out with words: “She was concentrating on All is Well.”
‘All is Well’ which is all set to release on August 21 is Directed by Umesh Shukla. His other directorial includes ‘OMG Oh My God.’
