Nagarjuna? No, Chiranjeevi-Hosted ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ Episode 4 Review

The fourth episode of Chiranjeevi is full of surprises, auto ride and auto driver uniform put together with melodrama chipped in equal quantity. The episode opened with Sathis, the roll-over contestant taking the hostseat and requesting the megastar chiranjeevi to get into his auto for a ride and he did take him for a real ride.

In between the ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ Sathish, the contestant revealed that he had lost his father and he took loans to get his sister married off. Nonetheless, he recollected how he was driving the auto for livelihood after quitting his studies.

One day a teacher took his auto and asked him how far he studied. When he said up to 10th and could not pursue due to financial problems, she propped him to continue his studies further. He took the advice seriously and finished Intermediate (12th) and is now waiting for the main results of exam for the recruitment of Police Constable in Telangana.

After the ride, Chiranjeevi recollected his role as autodriver Jaani in one of his films and the question and answers session continued as expected around epic, temples and Sathish finally quit the show at Rs.3.2 lakh question, but he was lucky that Chiranjeevi himself announced Rs.2 lakh from his pocket. No wonder, Chiranjeevi showed his known philanthropy on the Maa TV show.

What came as another surprise was the special guest, none other than, Akkineni Nagarjuna, who is visibly more at ease in the show as he hosted it for over 3 years and his unique “Chinna Viramam, Chitikelo Vachchesthamu” came as a great relief to the audience who were missing him as the host of ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu.”

Perhaps, the appearance of Nagarjuna was to overshadow the rumours last year that Chiranjeevi barged his weight to play the host of ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu”. Whether it is true or not, Nagarjuna’s words and deeds did sense the truth in the rumour.  The fact that Chiranjeevi was brought in to replace Nagarjuna despite his wishes may be true if one sees the body language of the two actors of Telugu film field.

However, Nagarjuna and Pragya Jaiswal appeared for the promotion of their upcoming film “Om namo Venkateshaya” and Nagarjuna revealed the secret behind his youth-looking face that defies logic for many Telugu audience. After forcing Pragya to speak a few words in Telugu, both Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna came to consensus on emotional ups and downs while playing host of ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu”.

Nagarjuna later recollected how his epic roles in Annamayya, Ramadass, Shirdi Sai and now in Om Namo Venkateshaya, with famous director K. Raghavendra Rao, whose signature scene of hitting heroine’s stomach with a flower, made the show lighter.

Then chiranjeevi came out with his experience while acting in Khaidi No. 150 that he said was due to prompting from friends like Nagarjuna in his MEK show and then from Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth. “After flip-flops in politics, I was apprehensive to act again with the same old spirit but once on the sets, it came automatically,” he said.

Nagarjuna forced chiranjeevi to commit that he would do even the 151st film too on the sets of ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu.”

As the show is for 4 days from Monday to Thursday, this is the last review for the week and next week, we will be back with episodes which will feature Bahubali actor Daggubati Rana, his old famous heroines Radhika and Suhasini making special appearances. But surely, the 150th film hit song “Ammadu, let’s do Kummudu” will be seen replayed on the sets of next ‘meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’.
