Bollywood actor-producer Ajay Devgn, who also partially owns the Delhi franchisee of the Champions Tennis League (CTL), says everyone should be ready for a lot of tennis this month as the Indian super League comes to end this month.
“I now own a Tennis Team @DelhiDreams_CTL team at @CTLIndia2014. Gear up for a lot of tennis this November,” Ajay posted on Twitter. His association with the Delhi Dreams team was announced Friday. He co-owns the team along with businessman Sanjeev Kassal of First Serve Sports Private Ltd.
The Delhi team comprises of former men’s World No.1 Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero, ex-women’s top-ranked player Jelena Jankovic, South African Kevin Anderson and Indian Sana Singh.
The inaugural CTL, from Nov 17-26, is to be played across six cities in the country — Chandigarh, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi.
Ajay’s association with CTL further strengthens Bollywood celebrities’s growing synergy with the sports arena.
Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Ranbir Kapoor are associated with cricket, kabaddi, football and hockey leagues — and they’re actively promoting respective teams and the sports in general.
