Yash Raj Films’ ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ is all set to redefine the director’s lifeline into the Bollywood’s Hall of Fame.
For a girl grown up in Hyderabad, films could have been her natural choice but as daughter of a professor, life meant simpler for her in the picturesque surroundings of JNU with many friends and well wishers. She was also a natural dancer who made it to the Times of India’s front pages during her university days in Delhi.
When she went to the UK for her higher studies, she was driven into an altogether a different career and returned to Mumbai in pursuit of a Bollywood career in direction.
When she was a student in the UK, she took up a job in a cinema hall but says that “was then when my interest in films grew. I got influenced towards film world.”
Ashima has worked as an assistant director in films like ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’, ‘Chak De India’, ‘Rockstar’ before getting a big break in directing ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ featuring Saqib Saleem,Rhea Chakraborty, Ram Kapoor, Prabal Panjabi and Ravi Kishan. The film will be released on Friday, March 15, 2013.
The Bollywood comedy ‘MDKM’, set in the backdrop of a loud Punjabi wedding in Chandigarh, surrounds a boy who sneaks out with his father’s new car to impress a girl. Rest is Ashima’s creativity in the film that is bound to entertain the audience.
Ashima Chibber is now busy doing two more films Yash Raj Films. “I want to do a lot more. I will stay here, work hard and deliver what is required from me. The scripts still need to be decided, I am working on the scripts,” she told IANS.
To be released on Friday, ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ is all set to enthrall the audience after a series of serious films or re-makes in the last two months.
