Indian stock markets BSE and NSE were closed on Thursday for Guru Nanak Jayanthi and the trading will resume on Friday.
The Sensex on Wednesday evening closed almost flat at 27,915.88 though it went up to 28,010.39, making it the highest recorded points in Sensex history.
The Nifty gained 0.17 percent to reach 8,338.30 and it gained as much as 0.5 percent to hit a record high of 8,365.55 points during the day.
The rupee closed at 61.41/42 per dollar, remaining more or less flat from Monday’s close of 61.40/41. The benchmark 10-year bond yield closed 7 basis points lower at 8.19%, its lowest level since August 12, 2013.
