‘Overjoyed’ is the word that perhaps describes mood of everyone associated with the club Manchester United currently. The Red devils, after a torrid start to the season have hit top gear and are currently placed in the third position, eight behind leaders Chelsea. That is not all, they have won six games on the trot, a feat no other team has managed to achieve this season and they look to be in capacity to make it seven as they visit Villa Park.

Van Gaal finally seems to have got his tactics right as the United forward line, aided by a well oiled midfield system is reaping dividends. He will once again rely on Rooney and Van Persie to deliver against what can be called a depleted Aston Villa outfit.
Paul Lambert has a host of injuries that he needs to worry about ahead of the United clash. The Villa manager will miss the services of Nathan Baker, Joe Cole, Libor Kozak, Philippe Senderos and Ashley Westwood owing to injuries and will field a below par side to face red hot United. However, he will seek solace with the returning Ron Vlaar, who will solidify Villa’s leaky defence. On the attacking front however, Villa boast of both Agbonlahor and Andres Weimann who are experienced campaigners and are in good form. They will look to put pressure on a relatively inexperienced United defense.

Key factors in the match:
Rooney loves scoring against Villa and will look to add more to his impressive tally against the midlands club. He has scored twelve goals against them in the past. Another fact that adds to United’s advantage is that Villa have won just one of the last 37 league outings again them. The record shows how tough a nut United is to crack against Lambert’s side.

Michael Carrick has started the last six games for United and they have won all those fixtures. He adds a little bit of flair to attack and will look to deliver against Villa as well.

Predictions:
Mirror UK – 2-2
BBC – 0-2 to United
