West Brom vs Manchester City
Date – 26th December 2014
Time – 8:30 PM IST
Manchester United was the only side to win six games on the trot this season. A record the red evils will be proud of. But their noisy neighbors are trying to outdo the former champions with six wins on the trot as well and only conceding four goals in the entire process. And to add to that feat, they travel to West Brom this week looking to make it seven on the go to surpass United. And, it certainly seems like an achievable task with Toure, Silva and Nasri all in sublime form. The City midfield has been a force every team has found it difficult to live with and Alan Irvine has to negate their presence if his side are to pose any kind of threat to the defending champions.
The Baggies hold the 15th position in the league only two points adrift of the bottom three. The last eight places are so closely knit that any result could trigger a drastic change of position. With this in mind Alan Irvine and his side will look to play safe and move closer to midtable. City are never the easiest side to take points off and hence the Baggies will have their task cut out.

Key factors in the match:
Despite boasting of a quality midfield, City lacks the striking force heading into the West Brom clash. Aguero, Dzeko and Jovetic are out injured forcing Pellegrini to play a makeshift striker in James Milner. It worked out for them against Palace no doubt, but it definitely is not the long term solution. This will ease out the stress for the Baggie defenders come Friday.
Post the departure of Lukaku, Berahino looked like the man who solved West Brom’s goal drought crisis. The striker initially was a force to reckon with but has since then become goal dry. His failure to find the back of the net has forced Irvine to tinker with his line up and the experiment does not seem to work for the Baggies. City look favorites going into this unless West Brom can conjure up a solid performance to shock the champions.
