With nine back to back wins in all competitions, City seem to be the side currently ruling the roost. Their Premier League record that now stands at seven continuous wins will make their neighbors and others certainly jealous. They are all set to ring in the holiday season by welcoming Burnley and company home in what promises to be a high scoring fixture. City are currently in the second place, three points behind leaders Chelsea and will know that the latter’s fixture against Southampton will be a mammoth task for the Blues to overcome. This gives Pellegrini  and his men ideal chance to put some pressure on the league leaders and hence it is is game he will approach with utmost caution.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche ahead of the fixture said that his side are aiming to play fearless football as the expectation will be solely on the home side. City are a devastating side at home and Burnley will be well aware of that. The Clarets remain second from bottom with three losses in the last four games. They need to shake up things real fast before it may be too late to recover. A win against City will put Sean Dyche’s side in the 15th place. That just comes to show you the margin of points between the sides in the lower half of the table. Burnley now  have no choice but to take advantage of their natural offensive game and hit City on the counter.

Form:

Burnley –DLWLL

Manchester City – WWWWW

Key factors in the match:

Aguero, Dzeko and Jovetic are still out injured forcing Pellegrini to play a makeshift striker in James Milner once again. That has not proved to be too much of a concern for City as they are yet to face quality sides with the current lineup. Burnley too will not be mighty proud of their defensive record, but they have conceded just seven goals in the last six games. This might be a fixture that demands a similar approach and Burnley must be up with the task.

Predictions:

BBC – 2-0 to City
