Telugu film ‘Srimanthudu’ by Mahesh Babu and Shruti Hassan is likely to hit screens in May 2015 as the film crew is busy finishing the fighting scenes before sending it to studios for final touches.
Interestingly, the film features Shruti Hassan, who did an item number in Mahesh Babu’s last film “Aagadu” in lieu for a major role in “Srimanthudu”. The storyline is still kept top-secret but it revolves around the hero, son of a millionaire, with traces of Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s (ANR) similarly titled film four five decades ago.
However, reports said Mahesh Babu is sporting an entirely new hair-do for the film in the first half and ususal haircut in the next half, depending on the role. There are also hints that he may be seen in dual role in the film but the director Koratala is not forthcoming to confirm the news.
For the fans of the Prince (Mahesh Babu), the new hairstyle should make the difference but this is not the first time Mahesh Babu sported an entirely different harido for a film. His past film “Athithi” too had the hero in an entirely new get up though it failed to succeed at the box office.
Jagapathi Babu will play the millionaire father in “Srimanthudu” and a TOI report said, “After much deliberation, Mahesh zeroed in on an uber casual look replete with cardigans, jackets, scarfs..et al.” It further added quoting an unnamed source saying that the actor “will have a layered bang — something he’s trying for the first time. For a few episodes, he’ll wear a messy hair-do, and will have a straight cut in some others.”
“Srimanthudu” will feature Mahesh Babu, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Nadhiya, Amani, Sampath Raj, Brahmanandam and Poorna in lead roles and cinematography by R. Madhi and music by Devi Sri Prasad.
Produced jointly by Naveen, Ravi Shankar and CV Mohan under the banner Mythri Movie Makers, the film shooting was done mostly in Hyderabad, Pune and in Pollachi in Tamil Nadu.
