Liverpool ended the year on high with 4-1 thrashing of Swansea city and that is just what the doctor ordered with respect to the Reds. After a phenomenal 2013-14 season that saw them almost emerge champions, Liverpool have taken a fall for the worst this year. Post the departure of some key players and the arrival of some ‘misfits’ to say the least, Liverpool have finally managed to find their footing in the league. They are currently in the eighth position and will look to further surge up the table. A win will take them to sixth place, an ever so familiar territory for them and they will look to desperately get things up and running in the new year.
Leicester City start the year rock bottom in the league and the road looks bleak for the Foxes. After four demoralizing defeats on the trot, they managed to get an all important win over Hull City last week. This leaves them 3 points below the other three sides above them and they are indeed within touching distance to get out of the dreaded relegation zone. They will take a lot of positives for their away win last week and look to cash it in on a relatively unpredictable Liverpool side.

Key factors in the match:
Jordan Henderson was the bright spot for Liverpool last week and he essayed his ‘holding’ role to perfection. The England international was at his offensive best against the Swans and more than covered up for his captain Steven Gerrard. He will once again be expected play a vital role against the Foxes and he will surely relish the opportunity of attacking one of the most generous defenses in the league.
Leicester managed to finally nick a win after a 13 game streak and that comes to show you the quality of their side. Despite possessing some experienced campaigners, the Foxes just don’t seem to find the right combination. They should be in a mode to settle at least for a point against an attacking Liverpool side.
