Live: Kalam’s Last Rite Begins at Rameswaram

Former President and India’s “Missile Man” Abdul Kalam, who died on 27 July during a lecture at IIM Shillong, will be laid to rest on Thursday at his hometown Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu.

People’s President will be given a state funeral with military honors and will be buried at Pei Karumbu, near Rameshwaram town.

Many senior leaders including PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi have already reached to attend the last rites.

Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Kerala will also attend Kalam’s last rites, however, TN CM J Jayalalitha will skip the last rites, owing to her health condition.
