Tamil star Rajinikanth’s upcoming film "Lingaa" heroine Sonakshi Sinha, who made her Tamil debut said she was thankful to the superstar and thoroughly enjoyed working in the film, which has taught her good experience.
"Lingaa is done!! Thanks to @superstarrajini sir and the entire team for this opportunity. Enjoyed working on this film and learnt a lot," Sonakshi tweeted on Monday.
"Lingaa", directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar, is the third film together with Rajinikanth after hits like "Muthu" and "Padayappa". The film will be released on Dec.12, Rajinikanth’s birthday.
Besides Sonakshi, the fil features Anushka Shetty as Rajinikanth has double role as father and progeny, plus Santhanam and Karunakaran play in key roles. It was learnt that Rajinikanth has dubbed for the film "Lingaa" at a lightning speed in less than 24 hours, much to the surprise of the film’s crew.
"Rajini sir recently completed dubbing for the film in less than 24 hours. Usually, dubbing takes a few days for most actors as it requires going over few lines in sync with the scenes. But Rajini sir finished dubbing most of his lines in one take," a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
"Lingaa", which is currently in post-production, but filming of two songs are still pending. "The introductory song and a duet are yet to be canned. Rest of the shooting has been completed. For one of the songs, the team plans to go to Europe," the source told IANS.
"As soon as we complete shooting the climax, we plan to head to Europe to shoot two songs. We have already completed the talkie portions," said production unit source, revealing that the duet will feature Sonakshi Sinha and Rajinikanth.
The shooting for the film "Lingaa" was mostly done in village settings at Shimoga district in Karnataka and some shooting was done in several places in Europe. Some important stunts sequences were done under Hollywood stunt choreographer Lee Whitaker.
"We are currently shooting the climax sequences. Hollywood stuntman Lee Whitaker is busy canning some important action scenes in the climax," IANS reported quoting a source from the film’s unit.
In Shimoga, the shooting took place continuously for two weeks. "We are shooting here for nearly two weeks now. The team is expected to take a break next week as Rajini sir and Ravi sir are likely to attend the audio launch of Shankar’s ‘Ai’," reported IANS last month.
