Buyers will, however, have to have to loosen up their pockets as G Watch Urbane will cost them Rs. 29,999.
According to the Amazon listing, the original price of the watch is Rs. 35,000 but is reduced to Rs 29,999 for the buyers. With a heavy price tag, LG has targeted the niche audience that is willing to pay so much for G Watch Urbane, the costliest smartwatch in India so far.
The G Watch Urbane is available in gold and silver variants and sports brown and black leather straps respectively. The straps can be exchanged with any replacement 22 mm leather, silicone or metal ones. The overall look of the watch is simply classy and sophisticated.
Being one of the initial partners for Android Wear which was launched last June, LG has managed to manufacture two more smartwatches powered by the OS. Android Wear watches act more like companion hardware for the smartphones. But, the G Watch Urbane has been marketed as a lifestyle product.
The circular screen size of the watch, cased in stainless steel body, is 1.3 inches in diameter with 320 x 320 pixels, similar to its predecessor G Watch R that was launched last year. It is packed with Android Wear 5.1 and 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 SoC. The smartwatch has 8GB internal space for data storage and a 512MB RAM to support the processor.
The G Watch Urbane has 410mAh battery and is IP67 certified. It can be tethered to smartphones running Android 4.3 or above.
The smartwatch weighs 91 grams and uses a proprietary charging cradle. Furthermore, it also features a PPG sensor which measures the wearer’s heart rate.
It remains interesting to see how many takers are there in the market for this classy smartwatch with power-packed features.
