Rajinikanth film “Kochadaiyaan” released on Friday has broken all the box office records of any Rajini film in Tamil Nadu, where it has been released in 425 screens and its Hindi, Telugu and Bhojpuri versions make it more than 3,000 screens all over the world.
Made with a budget of Rs.125 crore, the film has latest animation technology used for the first time in India. The multi-starrer features Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone and Jackie Shroff.
The occupancy rate in Tamil Nadu was more than 65% and about 50% elsewhere. It will pick up in the weekend. First day collections are expected to cross Rs.20 crore in all the 3,000 screens.
