Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will fly to Bangalore on Monday to undergo throat surgery for his constant cough after almost two years of his sojourn in an Ayurvedic hospital last time.
Kejriwal will finish his 4-day tour of poll-bound Punjab before visiting Bangalore, which is erupting in violent protests over water sharing row with the Supreme Court asking the southern state to provide 15,000 cusecs of Cauvery water in the next 10 days.
“Before leaving for Bengaluru, the CM will embark on a 4-day visit to Punjab starting from September 8. He will meet party leaders and address public gathering in Punjab. Thereafter, he will leave for Bengaluru on September 12 and undergo surgery next day. He is expected to come back on September 22,” said a senior government official.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will look after the chief ministerial works in the absence of Arvind Kejriwal.
Bangalore as a healthcare destination for Kejriwal was not new. He had attended a 10-day naturopathy treatment for his cough problem at Jindal Nature Cure Institute in Bangalore in 2015.
