Katrina Kaif will be soon seen sharing screen with Martial Arts Superstar Jackie Chan in their upcoming movie ‘Kung Fu Yoga.’
The movie will be directed by Stanley Tong, who is a Hong Kong based film maker. His other movies include Jackie Chan Classic, Rumble in the Bronx.
Katrina Kaif, who was born in Hong Kong, grew up in UK and became Bollywood’s top heroine, has signed her first International Film opposite Jackie Chan. The genre of the movie is action-adventure.
The actress plays a role of Indian Professor at a Chinese University and Jackie Chan portrays Chinese Archaeologist who seeks the actress help to reveal treasures from the Magadh Era.
The story goes that the two set out on a treasure hunt, which was traceable to the Magadh dynasty’s King Bimbisara, son of Maurya Chandragupta, the founder. He ruled the Magadh empire from around 542 BC to 492 BC.
Bimbisara was known for his cultural achievements and was friendly with Gautam Buddha, who pioneered Buddhism.
“There are a lot of stunts in the film which is not surprising since it features Jackie Chan, a martial arts expert. What is interesting is that Katrina too will get to do many action scenes,” said a report in TOI, quoting an unnamed source. Katrina is not new to stunt films as she did a lot of action in Ek Tha Tiger.
The professor and the archaeologist will travel back in time and interact with the royals. “They will also fight off demons from their past,” the source told TOI.
Katrina is currently busy shooting for ‘Fitoor’ which is being directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The movie is said to be an Indianised adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel, “The Great Expectations”. The movie will be released on Feb 14, 2016.
The actress will also be seen in Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos, which features her steady date, Ranbir Kapoor too.
