As Karnataka transport unions BMTC, KSRTC and regional transport corporations have declared a two day strike from Sunday midnight, the buses will be off roads in Bangalore and the entire Karnataka on Monday and Tuesday.
All schools will be closed as per the government directive but no word has been made on government offices and other semi-government functions in the state.
Here is a glance at what will be affected on Monday, July 24 bus strike in Karnatka:
— No BMTC and KSRTC buses, even day time long route buses will ply on Monday and Tuesday, as state-owned buses will be off roads.
— Autos, cabs and taxis will ply and passengers can expect fares to go up phenomenally tomorrow during the peak office hours.
— Banks will anyway remain opened but low turnout of the staff is expected, crippling banking services for customers.
— Schools and Colleges will remain closed on tomorrow’s strike and the office statement has been made on Sunday by the government.
— Schools have already intimated parents about the holiday tomorrow and opted for wait-and-watch policy before declaring a holiday for Tuesday as well.
— Railway trains will be running as usual though delays may be expected tomorrow and on Tuesday.
— Government offices will remain opened but staff turnout is likely to be hit due to bus strike though the government said it would make alternative arrangements.
— Private buses will be asked to run for these two days to bridge the emergency requirements to transport people.
