Singer-actress Jennifer Hudson has joined the growing list of performers set to take the stage at the 87th Academy Awards.
“I’m excited to announce that @TheAcademy has invited me to perform on the #Oscars on Feb 22nd,” the 33-year-old tweeted, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The news was confirmed by the show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron in a statement.
“We’re creating several musical sequences for the Oscars and we couldn’t be happier that our friend, Jennifer Hudson, will be performing in one of them,” the statement read.
Hudson has joined other previously announced performers, including Tim McGraw, Jack Black, Tegan and Sara, and Anna Kendrick.
Actress Anna Kendrick , 29, took to her Twitter account to announce her special appearance at the annual show.
“Excited to announce @TheAcademy has invited me to be part of a special performance at the #Oscars on Feb 22nd,” she tweeted.
The announcement was confirmed by the show’s producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who said in a joint statement: “Out of the woods and on to the Oscar stage, Anna will be performing something special that is sure to be an ‘Only on the Oscars’ moment.”
Some of the other performers at this year’s Oscars include Tim McGraw, Jack Black, and Tegan and Sara.
Meanwhile, it was also confirmed that John Travolta and Jennifer Aniston have also been added as award presenters for this year’s annual awards show. Both stars joined other announced presenters, like Sienna Miller, Chris Pratt, Kerry Washington, and David Oyelowo.
The 87th Academy Awards will take place here at the Dolby Theatre Feb 22.
