Connaught Place in Delhi is a vintage era knotted with modern defecements but new one to add the irony is a pub that too named after the House of Commons, the British upper house. Located opposite Shakar Market in CP, the pub ‘House of Commons’ wants to bring colonial era’s grandeur back to life thought the name is unlikely to impress the conservative British pub-lovers.
Connaught Place in Delhi is a vintage era knotted with modern defecements but new one to add the irony is a pub that too named after the House of Commons, the British upper house.
"In the heart of the city pulsates the British pre-eminence in the structure of House of Commons. Having borrowed its title from the United Kingdom’s Parliamentary House, the gastro-pub eludes an old world charm of the English era," said a statement on the opening of the pub in the city’s centre-stage.
The pub will also feature the London Bridge, iconic English icons, red brick wall, riveted leather seats, vintage cars on display, traditional art elements on the walls, giving the leisurely ambience of a typical gastro pub, yelling the emblematic colonial swing, said orgnaisers. "The mood lighting enhances the dining experience and the popular music adds to the allure of the evening," they said emphatically.
"Come to this place if you want to relish the long-established English food amalgamated, astutely, with world cuisine – almost perceptively bridging the gap between Asia and the West. The drinks are innovative and concocted with conviction. The large TV screen, right at the centre of the buzz zone, makes this place fairly arresting – men can enjoy their beers while watching live matches and cheering for their favorite teams."
The place gives budding artists, magicians, comedians and singers a platform to perform for guests through Special Nights, it added.
