It’s Final: Reliance Jio Free SIM Open to All Now as Airtel Desperate to Counter

Free Reliance Jio 4G Preview offer has been opened to all 4G smartphones, whether the user owns a phone from any of the big makers ranging from Samsung, LG, Lenovo to Xiaomi or any other make. If your phone supports 4G, you can walk into nearby Reliance Digital showroom and ask for a SIM and if not insist on when you can collect.

The free Jio SIM can provide unlimited access to Jio’s Digital Life — HD voice call, HD video call, apps, data and SMS — for 90 days or three months before becoming paid service. And Airtel and Vodfone can count their numbers dwindling during the period. Airtel, known for its exorbitant prices varying from Rs.200 per GB, is now offering 5 GB free for all Airtel Broadband users, fearing mass migration of its customer-base to the rival.

The Reliance Jio 4G servic

es is still in beta version and was initially offered to Jio’s partners and employees in December last year. The free Reliance Jio 4G Preview scheme was later offered on Samsung phones — Galaxy A5 2015, Galaxy A7 2015, Galaxy A8, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 5 Duos, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy S7, and the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy J-series.

Next, the scheme was extended to LG 4G phones — the K332 (K7 LTE), K520DY (Stylus 2), K520DY, H860 (LG G5), K500I (X Screen), K535D (St

Plus), LGH630D (G4 Stylus 4G), and LGH 442 (LGC70 Spirit LTE).

Now all the Reliance Digital and

Digital Xpress Mini Stores will start offering the free SIM card in a week’s time, according to reports. Just carry two recent passport-sized photographs along with a valid address proof, or Aadhaar Card (both original and a photo-copy). If you carry your phone, it would be easier.

Once the beta ersion is over, the Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited subsidiary has been planning to roll out the broadband service to at least 80% of Indians with high-speed mobile Internet as well as voice services.

So, watch out Airtel and other competitors to offer more now, if you have their 4G service and paid from your nose huge amounts to avail faster Internet speed. Their hegemony is now put to test.
