IPL 2017: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians Test Fitness, Fortune, Future

Today’s clash between two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders and their old foes Mumbai Indians in the IPL Qualifer 2 will decide who will play against Rising Pune Supergiant in final at Hyderabad on Sunday, May 21, 2017 to lift the IPL trophy of the year.

Watch Live: The live broadcast can be seen on Sony TV (Sony Pictures Network) and the live broadcast of the KKR vs MI IPL-2017 match will start at 8pm IST. It will be livestreamed online on Hotstar.

Preview:

Since both these teams have lifted the IPL trophy twice in the last nine editions, there is every chance that they might lift it once again, if they cross today’s hurdle.

Mumbai Indians have done extremely well in batting this season and their openers Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel have been keeping the good show while skipper Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayadu and Kieron Pollard are out to fire the salvos against the rivals. Notable are Hardik and Krunal Pandya who are doing a fine job. Their bowlers Sri Lankan Lasith Malinga and Kiwi Mitchell McClenaghan have proved reliable as ever.

The Shah Rukh Khan-owned KKR has been missing the top honours every time so closely that this time at least the team should try to win the hearts of Bollywood who supported them all along. Its top batsman Lynn had scored 50 in a quick succession off just 21 balls against Gujarat Lions at Chinnaswamy stadium is looking at his repeat performance tonight.

Skipper Gambhir who missed a century against Gujarat with unbeaten 93, may revive hopes of another real one this time. Sunil Narine had been flip-flop throughout this season. His 50 runs off just 15 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore may have to be repeated once again to clinch the victory today.

Otherwise, KKR has Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa, who need to open the match with little push before getting out. On bowling front, Chris Woakes (17 wickets) and Umesh Yadav (16 wickets) have been good.

Prediction: KKR may win the match owing to their strong form unless rains play havoc.
