The IPL 2016 will have two new teams from Pune and Rajkot to replace Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for the next two years.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said the two new franchises will choose the players. Pune has the advantage of bidding for the first player since their bid at Rs.10 crore is lower than Rajkot’s bidding at Rs.16 crore. They will meet on December 15, 2015 for the franchise selection of players.
In the next stage, a Franchise workshop will be held in Srinagar on January 13 and 14, 2016.
The next crucial stage involves the IPL auction, which will be held in Bangalore, where all the other teams will participate to bid for the best players.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 will begin on April 9, 2016 and end on May 29, 2016. This is the ninth edition of IPL and it is scheduled to be held in India since there is no major interruption.
