Government Launches Mobile App on HIV/AIDS to Spread Awareness

Indian government has launched a mobile application called HELP(HIV Education and Linkage to Prevention), which will provide complete information on HIV and will also prompt user to access HIV testing from the nearest center free of cost.

Union minister of state, Ayush Shripad Naik on Wednesday launched the mobile app in Goa. The mobile app will also give information of locations of the nearest HIV/AIDS counselling and testing centers and will raise awareness.

HELP app will be available in google play store and App store, for a country with 200 million mobile internet users, it is expected to reach over 11 crore people across the country.

India have more than 7 lakh HIV patients, for which there are more than 15,000 integrated counselling and testing centers are functional, more than 400 ART(Anti-retroviral treatment) provide treatment.
