Twitter and Google have come together again to bring up tweets in google search results, which was not new and was experimented by Google only to abort them few months later in the past.
Now when people search for personalities, besides their Wikipedia page also appear latest news and their tweets, in a move to thwart Facebook’s integration of news on its social networking with search results.
If you are searching for Narendra Modi, the search results will give besides the usual results, Modi’s Tweets too. That means, Modi’s biographical information, official links and pages, latest news on Modi and his tweets will appear, making it full-fledged information at one place.
If somebody is looking for video game, all the information about it and the ongoing Twitter messages on the microblogging website about the game will also appear, making the search results as fresh and latest as possible.
The deal will help Twitter to be omnipresent in all results, which may offset the recent buoyancy of Facebook in search and news front giving a tough fight to Twitter and Google.
In addition, Twitter is working on a desktop Web version. “We have plans to bring this feature to more countries in the coming months,” said Twitter recently.
If Google users click on Twitter messages, they take the user directly to Twitter page for more info and see what is happening on the issue in real time.
Google, already wary of its declining search traffic, may benefit from this as they can together garner more visitors than before.
