The Google has launched the new Nexus phones Nexus 5X and 6P in India just before the launch of the latest iPhones in the country. The devices are expected to give tough competition to the Apple’s new phone.
Earlier, the devices was supposed to be available in Indian market by the end of the month but the makers have decided to launch it on the occassion of Navratri. As the festival season are in its peak, it is a wise move by the tech-giant to launch at this time.
Google has recently announced the two nexus devices this year, Huawei Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X.
The Nexus 5X is priced at Rs 31,990 and Rs 35,990, respectively, for the 16GB and 32GB variants. Whereas, The Nexus 6P is avaialable for Rs 39,999 and Rs 42,999 for the 32GB and 64GB versions respectively.
The Nexus 6P will be available online exclusively on Flipkart. Where as the Nexus 5X, the 16GB version will be available exclusively on Amazon.
Earlier this month, the team which built the devices held an ‘Ask Me Anything’ AMA session in Reddit discussing the new fingerprint security, the missing wireless charging and many more.
They also shared their feeling on how they felt about the numerous rumors and leaks.
They started with handsets names, the ‘X’ in Nexus5X represents the core of NeXus brand and the ‘P’ in Nexus 6p means Premium.
Stating the reason USB Type-C support, the Nexus team said they ditched Qi Wireless charging in the devices, which is more convenient due to being reversible. They also said that the phones are equipped with the fast charging technology.
Responding to question based on the security and encryption for fingerprints, the team said, “fingerprint features are securely encrypted on the device, and processed in the secure trust zone protected area of memory.”
