Gionee has launched its latest Elife S7 slim smartphone priced at Rs.24,999 in the range of mid-range phones rivalling Samsung’s Galaxy A7, Asus Zenfone 2, HTC’s Desire 826 and Xiaomi’s Mi 4.

Chinese phone maker Gione has unleashed the war in thinnest smartphone segments and so is its latest smartphone Elife S7, which measures 5.5mm width, making it easy for grip. Made with sturdy airplane-grade Al-Mg alloy, Elife S7 comes in a U-shaped microgroove pattern making it easier for fingers to hold the phone.

The Gionee Elife S7 comes in a 5.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, powered by the Android Lollipop-based Amigo 3.0 Operating System, running on a 1.7GHz octa core 64-bit MediaTek SoC and supported by a Mali-T760MP2 graphics processor.

On memory front, it sports a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory without the option for extendable microSD card slot. The other phone OnePlus One comes with 64 Gb and 3 GB RAM at a much lesser cost and is available without invitation. It remains to be seen whether the Elfie s7 stands competition with this demerit.

On camera front, it sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, with another 8MP front camera for selfies. With options like ‘magic focus’, ‘take anytime’ and ‘chameleon’, it provides snapping shots easily and instantly.

The front-end of the screen allows users to capture any colour and use it on the theme and the interface. With a dual SIM capability, the phone can be connected to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB OTG and A-GPS.

The battery power is slightly lower than the new smartphones with a 2750mAh battery but the battery save provision will make the front-end turn into black and enable saving the battery back up.

Gionee claims that the phone with its battery saver can run for 24 hours at 10% of charge. The phone has an in-built DTS technology with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Gionee has already announced that it would invest Rs.225 crore in India in the next three years to build a manufacturing facility and R&D facility.
